Ultra surrenders

Disillusion with the hard life in Bangladesh, a senior HNLC cadre, Meghalaya based outfit, identified as Tenzing Khonglah surrendered before the police.   Khonglah of Lapalang village located in the Indo- Bangladesh border joined the outfit in 2001 left Pansnumber village in Bangladesh and straightaway came to the Superintendent of Police, east Khasi Hills Office to surrender. Informing about the surrender, SP of Shillong H.Kharkrang said, “The surrender of Khonglah unearthed another testimony of HNLC cadres being stay and work in beetle nuts orchards of the Khasi population”. Stating, “due to the outfit serious financial crunch and its inability to feed the cadres in different camps, the cadres were asked to sustain themselves by working in Khasi villages”, the Police official added, “from the earlier and present information many HNLC members desires to leave Bangladesh and joined the mainstream”.
