Mizo CM promises greater developments

In a recent visit to his Champhai constituency, Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga promised greater developments in the area because of the upcoming border trade with Myanmar. Speaking to the people of the constituency, the chief minister said the border trade post in Zokawthar is to be upgraded to an international trade centre because of India’s Look East policy, which will result in greater trade flowing through the area. He said the people would greatly benefit from the trade that will be passing through the area.

Also announcing the creation of a new rural development block, Zoramthanga said the block will be headquartered at Ruantlang village and that the villages under this block would receive benefits through development works. While speaking at Zote village, the chief minister reminded the people that God had chosen the Mizos to spread the gospel and since this mission work cannot be accomplished under the burden of poverty, the people need to take advantage of government’s initiatives for development and for the people to be diligent and hardworking in their livelihood.
