MPC demands PR in Mizoram Opposition Mizoram People’s Conference (MPC) submitted a memorandum to State Governor Madan Mohan Lakhera demanding dismissal of the Zoramthanga Government alleging breakdown of law and order. Former Chief Minister and MPC chief Brig T Sailo and other top party leaders submitted the memorandum urging Lakhera to recommend promulgation of Article 356 to end the ‘misrule’ of the Mizo National Front (MNF) regime. The MPC alleged the MNF Government was indulging in massive corruption, favouritism, nepotism, unable to maintain law and order and having nexus with some of the insurgent groups of the North East. “The MNF Ministry no longer represents and enjoy the trust and confidence of the people of Mizoram,” the memorandum said, adding drastic measure is needed to ensure that it does not complete its full term. The MPC also alleged that the MNF government was having nexus with Myanmar’s Chin National Army (CNA), Bru National Liberation Front (BNLF), Zomi Revolutionary Army and Hmar People’s Convention-democrats by harbouring the rebels inside the State.
