SDF memo to Governor against Opposition
The ruling Sikkim Democratic Front has condemned the recent spurt of allegations levelled by the united opposition parties comprising the Congress (I), BJP, Sikkim Himali Rajya Parishad Party and the Sikkim Gorkha Prajatantric Party and submitted a nine-point memorandum to the Governor asking for immediate and strong action.

Earlier, he opposition parties met the Governor and submitted a memorandum against the ruling party on various charges of corruption and undemocratic ways being practised in Sikkim. The memorandum was accompanied by a State Congress published book titled Sikkim Sandesh containing a detailed account of the charges levelled against the government. In the said book, a Nepali edition of the same is quoted as saying that the merger of Sikkim with India was a handiwork of some traitors.

However, in the English edition the sensitive issue is deleted, the same issue being sent to the Governor. This triggered off the chain of allegations and counter-allegations by both the parties.

Spokesperson-cum -general secretary of SDF Bhim Dahal and political secretary to the Chief Minster, K T Gyaltsen strongly condemned the action of the opposition and counter-alleged that the opposition had defied the apex court in digging up issues already sub-judice and the content of the Congress book being derogatory and anti-national, which can lead to a serious law-and-order situation for the State. “We shall take the matter to the highest authorities in New Delhi, no anti-national activity will be tolerated,” said Dahal
