Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi reviewed the law-and-order
situation in NC Hills at a meeting with top-level officials of the
district at Haflong and asked the district administration to take the
toughest possible action against those involved in the violence.
The Chief Minister also visited the refugee camp at Maibong and took stock of the situation there. He has asked the district administration to see that there is no scarcity of essential commodities in the district. He said the State Government will prepare a special package for all-round development of the district. He also handed over cheques of Rs 3 lakh each to the next of kin of each of those killed in the recent violence. |
