Truce with UPDS extended Ceasefire agreement between the Centre and United People’s Democratic Solidarity (UPDS) has been extended for another six months. Both the sides first signed the ceasefire pact in May 2002. The decision was taken at a tripartite meeting between the Ministry of Home Affairs, Assam Government and the militant outfit. MHA was represented by joint secretary (North-East), Navin Verma and other officials, while Assam Home Commissioner Rajiv Bora and DGP, R.N.Mathur represented the State. UPDS was represented by joint secretary, Uzaru Mukrong and foreign secretary Mohan Khathar |
