Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio appealed to all the legislators of Nagaland Legislative Assembly to give serious thought on the development of rural masses in their respective areas to boost the economy of the state. Dedicating the State Institute of the Nagaland Rural Development (SIRD) auditorium, Rural Technology Museum, Library and Faculty Building of the Rural Development Department, Rio also appealed to the officials of the state Rural Development Department, especially those working at the grassroot level, to provide adequate training on advanced technologies in the field of agriculture to boost the economical growth as 70 per cent of the total populace of Nagaland are living in rural areas with their main occupation being cultivation. He pointed out that the cultivators are real contributors of economical growth in the state and for which they are one of the important sections of the society. |
