Arunachal Pradesh has signed MoU Arunachal Pradesh has signed MoU with three power giants of the country to develop seven hydel projects in the State for generating 15,000 mw of electricity. The Gegong Apang Government signed the deal with NHPC, NTPC and NEEPCO. The budget of the seven projects is approximately Rs. 41,457 crore. NHPC will execute three projects – Rs. 3172 crore Twang 1 project with an installed capacity of 750 mw, 3008 crore Tawang II with a capacity of 750 mw and Rs. 14,530 crore Dihang multipurpose project of 3000 mw capacity. The Dihang project in lower Dihang Valley district will be a joint venture Arunachal Pradesh Government and NHPC. NTPC will execute two projects – Etalin project with an installed capacity of 4000 mw at an estimated cost of Rs. 14069 crore and 500 mw Attunli project which has a budget of Rs. 2725 crore. NEEPCO will execute two
projects – Rs. 3327 crore and 1120 mw Kameng 1 project in the East Kameng
district and the smaller Rs. 629 crore/110 mw Pare project in Papum Pare
district. NEEPCO has already completed 405 mw Ranganadi Hydro electric
project besides the Kemang Hydro electric project in West Kemang district. |
