2 nabbed for circulating Rio ’s morphed picture

Dimapur police arrested two people in connection with the circulation of a morphed picture of Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on the Facebook. Official sources said that the arrest was made following an FIR lodged with Dimapur East Police Station by the Muslim Council, Dimapur, contending that some users in Facebook had opened a fake account of the council and used it to upload the morphed picture half naked picture of the Chief Minister. The complaint was against the fake account and Dimapur police managed to catch two suspects, residents of Zeliangrong colony at Dhobinullah area of Dimapur town, into custody recently.
Sources said they recovered a laptop from the suspects which has been dispatched to cyber experts at the Regional Institute of e-Learning and Information Technology, Kohima for further investigation. Sources said the suspects have denied the charges and are still under police custody. The fake Facebook account of the Muslim Council Dimapur has a photo of the deceased Al Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden as its profile picture.
