Bhutan, Nepal keen to start flight from NE
Several international airlines have shown keen interest to start flight
operations from the Region, says Assam Industries Minister Bhubaneswar
Kalita. The Gogoi Government, he says, is in touch with Thai Air, Bangladesh
Biman, Nepal Airline and Druk Air of Bhutan. In fact, both Druk and Nepal
Airline are interested in flying from Guwahati. The move by Air India to
withdraw the flights has evoked a sharp reaction with all the eight Chief
Ministers deciding to jointly petition the Prime Minister to press for
continuance of the international flight. Airport Authority of India is also
claims that the passenger load from Guwahati is not as poor as being made
out by Air India. |
