“Rampant corruption in Manipur ministry”

THEY were mum when they were ministers. But as soon as they were dropped, the three dropped Manipur ministers alleged the Congress-led Secular Progressive Front (SPF) ministry in Manipur  has become a “business house  where corruption ruled”. Their forecast is that the government is facing a crisis from within and it would be just crumble due to internal contradictions within the next few months. Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh dropped Chungkhokai Doungel (Forest), Wungnaoshang Keishing (Excise) and L Radhakishore (Education) from his Council of Ministers for ‘anti-government activities’.

Doungel’s claim is that he had been trying to sever ties with the government as ‘it had failed on all fronts.’ No development work had been taken up in spite of its existence for more than a year, was his grouse. Terming the present government as a gang of looters, Wungnaoshang Keishing described as ‘false and without any basis’ the Chief Minister’s claim that he was indulging in anti-party activities. Keishing further alleged that he failed to function properly because of interruption by leaders while he was holding the office. He claimed that he had no plan to join the BJP. ‘These charges have no basis,’ he said. I Radhakishore expressed that present ministry would not last long.
