AR to develop second model village in Nagaland

THE Assam Rifles has adopted Mima village in Kohima district of Nagaland and plans to develop it as a model village. It has declared it would transform the village as the second model village of the state after it developed Suthozu in the state as a model village. The Assam Rifles has already developed Suthozu, a nondescript village in Phek district as a model village with all modern amenities, which would be dedicated to the people soon as a New Year gift.

Inspector General of Assam Rifles Maj General K T G Nambiar has said that the Assam Rifles would prepare a blueprint on the model village in January and work would start immediately after completion of the project report. However, he said converting Mima to a model village would entirely depend on people’s cooperation and participation. He said medically fit and qualified youths would be recruited into Assam Rifles. He said students were the pillars of the society and citizens of tomorrow. He called upon the elders of the village to see that students were given proper education and said peace and development comes only through literacy.
