ARUNACHAL Pradesh Irrigation and Flood Control Department (IFCD) Minister Lombo Tayeng recently inaugurated a biomass gasifier project for rural electrification at Motum village in East Siang district of the State. The project with an installed capacity of 50 MW was sanctioned by the Ministry of Non-conventional Energy Sources with an allocation of Rs 11.31 lakh as Central share. The remaining amount of Rs 6.06 lakh out of total sanctioned amount of Rs 17.37 lakh was borne by the Minister, from his MLALADs. The Minister lauded the untiring efforts of the officers of Arunachal Pradesh Energy Development Agency officials for the timely commissioning of the project. Out of the 15 sanctioned projects so far in the state, this was the first project which was commissioned in a record time, he said. The Minister hoped that the second project at Borguli with installed capacity of 50 KW would also be commissioned on or before Arunachal Statehood day on February 20.
