KVIC to sanction special package for Arunachal

industry is the mainstay of North-Eastern economy. The Centre is putting
emphasis on this sector, which would provide employment to the youths of the
region. In accordence with the Centre’s policy the Khadi and Village
Industries Commission (KVIC) will sanction a special package for the
development of khadi and village industries in Arunachal Pradesh. The state
Khadi And Village Industries Board (KVIB) had recently submitted several
proposals to the KVIC chairman for his consideration. The proposals included
enhanced allocation under the rural employment generation programme,
adequate funding for promotional activities, setting up bio-gas plants,
common facility centre for making agarbati and agarbatti bamboo sticks,
setting-up of a regional rural industry training institute, project for the
development of apiculture and computerisation of boards’s office. The
proposals submitted by the board is under consideration of the industry
concerned and the programme directorate of the KVIC. The KVIC had considered
Arunachal KVIB’s proposal of enhancement of fund under the rural employment
generation programme (REGP) with the immediate effect and had directed the
Board to implement the rural employment generation programme in the state
with the help of banks. The state KVIB has urged all the bankers to extend
adequate credit supports so that the additional fund allocated by the
Commission for the current financial year was utilised fully. |
