Education reforms in Tripura In an effort to boost education in the State the Tripura Government has announced a number of reforms to improve the overall quality of education in the state and make the courses job-oriented. Chief Minister Manik Sarkar has said the new curriculum, which would be introduced from the 2005 academic session, would include modern history and technology and would be modelled on the Central Board of Secendery Education (CBSE). English will be taught
from class one instead of class three as is being taught now. The
recommendation of the first Tripura Education Commission, constituted in
2001 under the Chairmanship of the former Vice-Chancellor of the West
Bengal’s Kalyani University Prof Basudeb Barman was recently accepted by the
