Dhaka-Agartala package...! IN a bid to make the Dhaka-Agartala bus service more attractive, the Tripura government is looking into the options of starting a package tour, says Sukumar Burman, Transport Minister of Tripura. He said talks are on with Bangladesh in this regard. State information director Santanu Das visited Dhaka for exploratory talks with local authorities and tour operators, Chambers of Commerce. The Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) authorities are also not averse to the package tour concept pegged to Dhaka- Agartala bus link. Burman wants the Centre to
allow multiple visa facility to make the tour a success and the bus service
more popular. To make the bus service between Dhaka and Agartala more
popular, one-way ticket will also be available for the passengers besides
some other steps. The State political department will also ease the process
of providing passports to prospective passengers, the minister added.
Regarding travel tax and double entry visa, he said Chief Minister Manik
Sarkar took up these issues with Bangladeshi Prime Minister Begum Khaleda
Zia during his visit to Dhaka. |
