NEDFi-EPCH tie-up to boost export TO provide a forum and link between the Government and their member-exporters, NORTH Eastern Development Finance Corporation (NEDFi) and Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) have joined hands. The forum will take in to consideration proposals for export production, marketing, collection and dissemination of information. It will also look after programme implementation. EPCH sponsors, invites business delegations, sales team, study teams for exploring markets for developing export, arranging participation in buyer seller meets or in trade fairs/exhibitions in India and abroad. Under the aggressive international marketing project for North East, various activities to boost export from the region have been undertaken. These include identifying entrepreneur from region to make them exporters, providing them assistance at each and every level of export ranging from export designing (by international designer), packaging, labelling, shipment, international marketing, providing assistance in technological up gradation, raw material, sourcing and training to the artisan and participation in fairs/exhibitions in India and abroad for the image building of entire region. EPCH has opened its office at NEDFi’s R&D Centre,
Ganeshguri, Guwahati, to look after and
co-ordinate
day-to-day activities. Member exporters can avail financial assistance under
NEDFis’ special scheme. This project is implemented under EDP policy of
Ministry of Commerce, GOI and was started in January. |
