Now chamber’s task force
IT is time for a task force by the industry chambers. And the CII is setting
up one for the NE. The DONER minister Thakur is naturally happy. He welcomed
the suggestion from the CII chief executive officers’ conclave held at
Gangtok. C P Thakur appreciated the initiative taken up by CII to develop
the region. He said the development was the only way to contain insurgency
in the region. Meghalaya Chief Minister D. D. Lapang shared the view The
conference dwelt at length on how to develop the region economically through
the CII with the active co-operation of the respective state government of
the region. Dipankar Bhattacharjee, chairman, CII, National Committee for
North-East, described the conclave as a vital step towards coming close to
the region for its development. Secretary of DONER also attended the
conference. DRPP to review support to SPF government Democratic
Revolutionary People’s Party a partner of the SPF government in Manipur will
seriously reconsider extending its support if the government continues to
remain agnostic to basis issues of the people. This was stated by DRPP’s
spokesperson R. K. Anand. Mr. Anand said that his party being a regional
party will focus on local issues. However, the party will take active role
in national level programmes.
