Postal stamp on Tripureswari temple released
A postal stamp on Tripureswari temple of Tripura along with a series of
postal stamps on temple architecture was released in different parts of the
country. The chief Postmaster General of North-Eastern region P K Chatterjee
said total four stamps – Tripureswari temple of Tripura, Badrinath temple in
Uttaranchal, Jagannath temple in Puri and Mallickarjun temple of South India
– were released in different parts of the country. Tripura Chief Minister,
Manik Sarkar released the stamp on a 15th century temple constructed in the
Manikya dynasty of the state known as Tripureswari temple, the temple is
also regarded as one of the 52 shaktipiths of Hindu religion. The Chief
Minister said the stamp has immense importance because it would make the
temple familiar with the rest of the country about heritage of the State. |
