Non- lapsable fund for 500 projects

Centre has funded 502 socio-economic and infrastructure projects under Non Lapsable Central Pool of Resources (NLCPR) set up for the northeast in 1998-99. Total cost estimate is Rs 2763.84 crore. The centre has released around Rs 1870.45 crore.

The state-wise break up is Arunachal Pradesh Rs 148.37 crore, Assam-Rs 289.61 crore, Manipur-Rs 172.14 crore, Meghalaya -Rs 67.06 crore, Mizoram-Rs 161.72 crore, Nagaland -Rs 131.81 crore, Tripura-Rs 214.57 crore and Sikkim-Rs 116.72 crore.

In the last fiscal, the Centre released an amount of Rs 36.46 crore for Arunachal Pradesh under NLCPR, while Assam received Rs 17.85 crore, followed by Manipur (Rs 10.66 crore), Meghalaya (Rs 17.06 crore), Mizoram (Rs 48.11 crore), Nagaland (Rs 11.34 crore), Tripura (Rs 34.73 crore) and Sikkim Rs 23.78 crore.

Between 1998 and 2002, Centre has released Rs 18.46 crore for projects that benefit all the states.
