Mahanta to attend seminar in US

Former Assam Chief Minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta is presently in the United States to attend an international convention on world peace. Mr Mahanta, the former AGP president, said the international convention will focus onleadership for global transformation and explore the vision and practices necessary for an era of lasting peace. The convention, to be held in Washington DC will bring together leaders from countries like US, Korea, Japan, China, Russia, Mongolia and India. Participants will include current and former heads of state, political and religious leaders, diplomats and scholars. The programme will consist of a series of presentations outlining a new vision of peace for the 21st century. The primary co-sponsors of the summit are the Washington Times Foundation, United Press International Foundation, World Association
of Non-Governmental Organizations and the Mongolian Peoples' Federation for World Peace.
