Robert Lyngdoh turns to relatives

Meghalaya Home Minister Robert G Lyngdoh is turning to the relatives of the insurgents for help. He asked them to advise their kith and kin in the underground to turn a new leaf and return to live in peace in the Garo Hills region. Lyngdoh recently undertook a 10-day visit to three militancy-hit Garo Hills districts and assessed the ground situation. “I want to improve Garo Hills this year itself. But you should cooperate. Due to insecurity and fear, businessmen are not coming and flow of investment has stopped,” Lyngdoh, said during a visit to South Garo Hills. He interacted with locals at Baghmara. If the people of the region cooperate and support the government’s move, the menace of militancy would be over by the end of next year, Lyngdoh asserted. The Home Minister later held discussions on various issues.
