In an attempt to demoralise the security forces, the militants killed seven police personnel in an IED blast near Borkathal village in Tripura. Those killed include an   assistant sub-inspector and six special police officers (SPOs). The incident occurred when militants triggered off an improvised explosive device targeting the vehicle in which they were travelling near Borkathal under Siddai police station of  West Tripura district.
