Home Nagaland Home Minister T. M. Lotha feels that the parties concerned should stick to the ground rules agreed upon.

NAGALAND Home Minister T. M. Lotha has said there were many instances of violation of the ceasefire ground rules by the underground factions, engaged in ceasefire with the Centre. Replying to the supplementary question of Congress legislator Takatibe Masa, Dr Lotha stated that the issues were discussed during the recent meeting of Consultative Committee on Peace (CCP), which referred the ceases to the Ceasefire Monitoring Cell (CMC), stating that the parties concerned should stick to the ground rules, which they had already agreed upon. He further informed that the State Government would not compromise as far as the law-and-order situation was concerned in the State. Raising another question, leader of Opposition I Imkong expressed concern over the rise in cases of killing and deteriorating law-and-order situation in the State. Agreeing with the statement of Mr Imkong, Dr Lotha said killing, kidnapping and extortion continued unabated, and added that the State Government was committed to dealing firmly with the law breakers for restoring normalcy in the State.
