Chaoba Singh appeals ultras not to disturb polls “The MSCP will never compromise on the territorial integrity of Manipur.” The
former Union minister also revealed a plan to form a common political
platform for the border states to uplift underdeveloped ones. He also
stressed the need to develop the economy of the North-Eastern states in
association with the South Asian countries through border trades. Mr.
Chaoba said that for the upliftment of the people of the people of the
State his party was ready to join hands with like-minded political parties
of the border state to put pressure on the Centre. Unfolding the agenda of the MSCP for the forthcoming Assembly elections, Chaoba Singh said that his party had urged the Centre for the inclusion of Jiri-Tipaimukh road and National Highway-53 projects under the Tipaimukh dam construction project. Criticising the State Government for its effort to reduce the number of government employees, he stressed that the government should take adequate measures to rehabilitate the affected persons. Reminding
that the MSCP was formed four years ago for the cause of territorial
integrity of Manipur, he said his party would never compromise on its
stand on the issue of protecting the territorial integrity. Blaming the
present State Administratiom and as well as the governments led by
Wahengbam Nipamacha Singh and Radhabinod Koijam for their failure to
uplift the financial conditions of the State during their tenure, he
claimed, “Even the present government has no policy for the future of
the people.” President
of the MSCP youth front and former MLA of the Kshetrigaon Assembly
Constituency in Imphal East Vivek Raj Wangkhom, senior members of the MSCP
and former sports ministers Moirangthem Hemanta and treasurer of the party
Haokholet Thanhjom also spoke on the occasion. |
