Arunachal BJP memo to President

Resenting the ''unconstitutional and illegal'' dismissal of Manohar Parrikar-led BJP government in Goa by Governor S C Jamir, BJP's Arunachal Pradesh Unit urged President A P J Abdul Kalam to reinstall the government, which ''still enjoys majority and has the popular mandate''. A party delegation, as part of the nationwide protest campaign, submitted a memorandum to Dr Kalam through State Governor S K Singh. ''It is clear from the Governor’s action that he had kept Parrikar’s dismissal letter ready even before the confidence vote was taken. The Governor not only disregarded the verdict of the Assembly but also did not go for his own directives to the Speaker for report of the motion,'' the memorandum alleged. ''It is beyond doubt that the Congress has hatched a well-planned conspiracy and used the custodian of the Constitution in Goa to use illegal, arbitrary and partisan action to dislodge a popular elected BJP government,'' the memorandum added.
