APCC blames BJP regime for state problems The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee(APCC) has accused the previous BJP regime in the state for all the problems confronting people. This accusation comes in the backdrop of resolutions adopted by the saffron party in its state executive meeting. Taking a dig at the BJP leaders for criticising the Gegong Apang-led Congress government, APCC media department chairman Llayeng Mangfi said that those responsible for the financial disadvantages of the state during their one-year regime cannot question others for their misdeeds. ''They are merely old kids in a new suit'', he said. The chief minister has made all-out efforts to streamline the financial discipline ruined by the previous BJP government and was running from pillar to post to ensure fund flow for developmental activities. This and the financial deficit created by the previous government had delayed the finalisation of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), he said. On the Chakma-Llajong refugee issue, the APCC said that the chief minister, who has been 'championing' the issue, was taking all possible steps for a permanent solution. ''As the issue is a constitutional problem and cannot be solved in a day, the BJP should not make a mockery of itself through illogical questions to get cheap popularity'', he added. While the BJP government had kept the issue of devolution of power to Panchayati bodies in wraps, the Congress party was committed to the cause and had appointed a committee for the purpose, Mr Mangfi claimed. The APCC also castigated BJP's North East Incharge V Satish for his politically motivated statement against the Apang government. The BJP's failure to fulfill its promises and step motherly treatment to the state had paved the way for the Congress to come back to power, he added. 48-member CPI (M) state committee formed in Assam A 48-member new CPI (M) state committee was formed in Assam with the induction of eight new faces.
