Peace talks between NSCN, Centre to resume in Jan-end

Peace talks between the Centre and the NSCN (IM) are scheduled to resume towards the end of this month and for the first time the government is likely to be represented by a ministerial team. "Talks are scheduled for later this month or early next month," senior NSCN (IM) leader and outfit emissary V S Atem informed. He said during the talks, NSCN (IM) will take up with the government, to be represented by a group of ministers, its memorandum submitted Earlier for a peacEful solution to the decades-old Naga problem.

Asked about the visit of NSCN (IM) leaders Isak and Muivah to Nagaland, Atem said, "It is a successful trip. People are continuously meeting them for amicable solution." The NCSN (IM) and the Centre held talks in December last year after the arrival of the two leaders from Amsterdam.
