The United People's Front, Manipur, has charged the NSCN (IM) of creating trouble in Manipur by instigating the All Naga Students' Association, Manipur (ANSAM) to call economic blockade on the National Highways.

Earlier, the NSCN(K) had asked the ANSAM not to call indefinite lockade as communal harmony may be affected and charged that the ANSAM was a puppet of the NSCN (IM).The front said it expects the government to exercise political
wisdom to settle the crisis in Manipur.               
The Centre for Organisation, Research and Education (CORE), Manipur regreted the failure of the government to bring consensus among all communities living in the state before declaring June 18 as the state holiday and its subsequent '''mishandling of the protest'' by the people of Manipur.  

CORE appealed to the government to refrain from ''confrontational approach'', restrain the police and other security forces stationed here to assist the civil administration in accordance with law, strive for peaceful and amicable resolution keeping in mind the sentiments of all the people of Manipur.
