Transit camps ready for Bru repatriation Construction of transit camps for repatriation of the displaced Brus will be over by next week following the peace accord between the Mizoram government and the Bru National Liberation Front (BNLF).Official sources said more than 90 per cent of the construction of the transit camp at Tuipuibari has been completed. At least 30 houses have been erected at the camp, where around 195 surrendered BNLF rebels and their families, currently sheltered at Kanchanpur relief camp in North Tripura, would be placed in the first phase, they added.The officials said out the repatriation process would be undertaken with care of so that only the original residents are allowed to settle in the state.A special development project would be implemented for the Brus, depending upon the quantum of financial assisance received from the Centre, the officials said adding the state government will continue to work for the socio-economic development of Brus living in Mizoram.
