NSF joins hands with ANSAM

Following alleged police action against the 'peaceful agitators' in Manipur, the Naga Students' Federation (NSF) has declared that it will support the agitation of the All Naga Students' Association of Manipur (ANSAM).NSF said its agitation programme was being chalked out and would soon be declared. NSF president V Phushika Awomi said the student body has decided
to support ''the rightful demands of the ANSAM'' and ''will soon chalk out the detailed programme to impose economic blockade on all routes leading to Manipur from Nagaland.'' Mr Aawomi condemned the Manipur Okram Ibobi Singh-led SPF
government for declaring its Integrity Day on June 18, in effect glorifying violence and communal intolerance in the multiethnic
state.
Reacting to incidents, in which several ANSAM activists were injured in police firing and baton charge, he said it was amply evident that the Manipur government was least concerned about the aspirations of the Nagas living there.''The general uprising of Naga people in all four hill districts of Manipur is manifestation of the Nagas' refusal to be kept divided under different administrative units,'' he said.
