The Manipur Students’ Federation (MSF) is in favour of SSA, the Sarba Shiksha Abhiyan in the State We would exert pressure on the authorities for immediate SSA implementation, MSF said.

The SSA would benefit the student community tremendously specially those residing in the hills, an MSF official said adding the economically weaker students would be robbed of an opportunity to enhance their knowledge and skills if the scheme was not implemented. The Centre would bear 75 per cent of the cost while the States would have to bear the rest, the source said and added that many States had already started implementing the same.

The State Government had instituted a State Mission Society with the Chief Minister as the chairman. The Directorate of Education (S) was also entrusted with the task of over seeing the proper and timely implementation of the scheme. However it is yet to be implemented and not many people know of the scheme.
