Chhattisgarh Legislators in Nagaland An eight-member delegation of the Indian Parliamentary Association, Chhattisgarh branch, was in Nagaland on a study tour on the forest policy of the state.The team was led by its Chairman Badridhar Diwan, called upon Nagaland Assembly Speaker Kiyanilie Peseyie. Deputy Speaker E E Pangteang was also present during the meeting.The visiting delegation had a cordial discussion on the welfare activities taken up by the respective governments. The parliamentary team also expressed their sincere gratitude to Nagaland government for extending all necessary cooperation and hospitality to them.The team later called on chief minister Neiphiu Rio and discussed on the matters of mutual interest of welfare for both the states. Italian Ambassador visits Nagaland Italian Ambassador to India Antonio Armellini visited Nagaland recently to oversee the programmes of the United Nations Organization for Drug Control (UNODC). Mr Armellini, accompained by his wife Maria Giovanna Ceriani, his political adviser Paolo Trichilo and project director of the UNODC Dr Manjul Khanna, arrived at Dimapur after a brief stopover at the Kaziranga National Park in Assam.The Italian Envoy team attended a function at the Bethesda Youth Welfare Centre on peer networking and self help group among intravenous drug users.The programme is being conducted by the UNODC and ministry of social justice and empowerment (msje) supported projects e-41 and g-72 in Nagaland, the e-41 and g-72 are code name of different projects funded by the Italian government on the communitywide drug demand reduction in the North East. Referring to the various works of the drug demand reduction projects funded by the italian government in the region, Mr Armellini said, "we all share a common aim of human dignity."Dr Khanna said the Italian government is contemplating to fund in another project through unodc and msje on empowering communities for change.
