In a major militant strike, suspected NSCN (IM) and Achik National Volunteer Council (ANVC) ultras struck again in Meghalaya killing three policemen and two civilians in an ambush in West Khasi Hills district, according to DGP L. Sailo.

The incident took place barely two kms from the Indo-Bangladesh border. The incident proves that the extremist outfits in the North-East are actively operating on either side of the international border.
