Congress questions Advani’s “foreign origin’’
Come elections and political parties are never short of slogans. BJP general
secretary Pramod Mahajan even said that Indians of foreign parentage cannot
also occupy the post of the Prime Minister. In response, Rajya Sabha
Congress MP from Assam D. N. Sharma has said the BJP’s slogan would not
influence the voters across country in the coming Lok Sabha elections. Mr
Sharma, who is the AICC observer to Arunachal Pradesh for the coming Lok
Sabha election, said by capturing power in three states in November, the BJP-led
NDA government dissolved Parliament eight months prior to the schedule on
‘’emotional attitude’’. “If the BJP raises the question of Sonia Gandhi’s
foreign origin, they could not escape from the fact that Deputy Prime
Minister L K Advani’s foreign origin.
