North East should utilise change in tourist mindset It is time now for the North-Eastern region to utilize the growing tendency among tourists to shift from 'beach, sea, sand and sun' to 'experiencing the unique'.The NE region is unique for its lush-green landscape, dense forests, powerful rivers and diversity in culture and languages. The presence of over 166 tribal groups can make for a unique experience. The NE should only go for high-value travellers at it fitted the unique experience being looked for by such tourists. It has to be public-private participation with government role being limited to that of the facilitator. Tourism is a world of private enterprises. | Headlines
