NSCN (IM) flays Arunachal Governor

The NSCN (IM) has dismissed the recent remark of the Arunachal Pradesh Governor S K Singh, who had said Naga integration issue was bound to pass as a bad dream. In a statement issued by the ''Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Publicity (MIP)'' of NSCN (IM) Akaho Assumi said the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh was speaking the mindset of the right wing Indians, which resulted in confrontation for more than five decades. He reiterated that the ultimated aspiration of the Naga people is to live unitedly, which is their birthright.

In a strong worded statement, the NSCN (IM) accused the Governor of conspiring to sabotage and derail the ongoing ''Indo-Naga'' peace process and claimed that the Governor's comments reflect the ''Indian attitude''. The statement maintained that the ongoing political talks had entered into a very crucial stage as the Government of India had recognised the uniqueness of the Naga history and the situation. Terming the statement of the Governor as ''a comment without any base'', the NSCN (IM) said ''the Governor is on the negative and destructive side and does not have the political will to solve the problem.''

The statement further said it was prepared for any eventuality to defend the aspirations of the Naga people and cautioned all concerned that dilly-dallying on the core issue would never lead to any honourable solution
