DGAR observes Anti-Terrorism day
Directorate General of Assam Rifles (DGAR) observed Anti-Terrorism day on
the eve of death anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. A
pledge-taking ceremony was held at DGAR complex in Shillong to mark the
occasion. It was attended by all officers and staff. The oath read: ''We the
people of India, having abiding faith in our country's tradition of
non-violence and tolerance, hereby solemnly affirm to oppose with our
strength, all forms of terrorism and violence. We pledge to uphold and
promote peace, social harmony and understanding among all fellow human
beings and fight the forces of disruption threatening human lives and
values.'' Similar pledge-taking ceremonies have also been observed by all
formation headquarters and units of the force deployed at various parts of
the North Eastern Region of the country. |
