The North Eastern Council (NEC) has accorded administrative approval for release of Rs 28.21 crore approximately for implementing various schemes worth Rs. 32.05 crore in different states of the North-East during the month of July and August, 2002. For Assam administrative approval was accorded towards the scheme “Organisation of Exhibition in connection with NE Business Summit” held in Mumbai in July 2002 through Cane and Bamboo Technology Centre, Ganeshguri, Guwahati at an estimated cost of assistance of Rs 3,25,00.00 and Rs eight lakh was sanctioned to the director, Centre of Plasma Physics, Guwahati as second instalment for implementation of the scheme, “Development of a Device for Plasma assisted hardening of agricultural and domestic Implements”. Administrative approval was accorded to the work pertaining to construction/improvement of Zamuang-Hriphan/Dullavcherra road Ph-II (608 km) and Ph-III (9-11 km) under NEC programme at an estimated cost of Rs 321.15 lakh. Approval was also accorded to improvement of Naharkatia-Khonsa road, SH:Phase-II (9-16 km) under NEC programme at an estimated cost of Rs 423.19 lakh. In Meghalaya,
administrative approval was accorded to the work pertaining to construction
of RCC bridge No. 33/1 and 36/1 including subway bridges on
Nongstoin-Rongjeng road under NEC programme at an estimated cost of Rs
113.23 lakh. An amount of Rs 450 lakh was sanctioned as grant and Rs 50 lakh
as loan to the Government of Meghalaya during 2002-03 (1st quarter) for
implementation of NEC Plan schemes. |
