Two
militants of Manipur’s banned People’s
Liberation Army (PLA) were chargesheeted under POTA by Delhi Police in a
city court. The chargesheet filed in the Court of Special Judge S. N.
Dhingra alleged that Khogbantabam Brojen Singh alias Somi and Ibotombi
Sapan conspired with other members of the outfit to bring students of the
North-East into its fold to carry out subversive activities in the Capital.
Police alleged that they were tasked by the militant outfit and its banned
political wing, Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF), to create safe hideouts
for the members of its organisation. The chargesheet said Irengam Bharat
Singh alias Choran Singh, President of RPF and PLA’s Commander in-chief, was
instructing the duo to gain the support and bring into its fold various
North-East based student’s outfits. The militants have also been accused of
making a attempt to garner the support of separatist amalgam Hurriyat
Conference by circulating anti-India literature. |
