Differences in BJP Differences in the BJP Mizoram unit over holding of organisational elections have resurfaced again prompting party unit general secretary Vanlalgaia to urge party National president M Venkaiah Naidu to intervene to put the house in order. Detractors of the young BJP unit chief V F Lalzarliana said that he not only boycotted the state council meetings of the party but also tried to “sabotage the meeting by instigating important leaders not to attend the meeting.” P Lalbiaka, state vice president of the party, in his welcomed address at the state council reportedly described the “childish” act of the president as “flagrant violation of party discipline.” Another vice president Francis Lawmkima termed the absence of the party unit chief as “unfortunate” and stressed the need for party discipline. “Disctatorship has no place in the BJP and whatsoever decision is made should be a collective decision, collective wisdom and collective leadership.” Lawmkima said. Some party leaders said that the resolution for holding organisational election within this year replacing adhocism was unanimously adopted by the state unit executive extended meeting on August 27. | Mizoram | North East Enquirer (Headlines) | Nena Home Page | |
