Acute drinking water problem in Tezu

Arunachal Pradesh Public Health Engineering Minister Chowna Mein and Minister of State for Forest and Environment Nakul Chai visited the Dura Nallah Hydel Project in Lohit district which had been damaged by rains last summer. The people of Tezu and neighbouring villages are facing acute drinking water problems due to washing out of the project. The local people used the water of the Dura Nallah for drinking purposes before it was damaged by the rains.Chief engineer of the public health engineering T. Bagra along with other high officials of the department also visited the site and discussed about exploring the possibilities of potential alternative source of water for drinking purposes. Both the ministers have directed the department officials to find out urgently the alternative source of drinking water to mitigate the sufferings of the local people.
