Crop stealing protested

In a letter to his Assam counterpart, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Gegong Apang has expressed deep concern over the alleged eviction and forcible harvestng of crops by Assam government officials in some villages under Papum Pare district of the State recently.

It is unfortunate that "administrative machinery, particularly the police and forest officials, particularly the police and forest officials should have indulged in activities which did no credet to them," wrote Mr. Apang in the letter sent to Assam CM Prafulla Kumar Mahanta.

The poor villagers were deprived of their meagre crops, added the Arunachal CM.
