This was the optimistic view expressed by K.C. Thakuria, Rector of the ASE at the function of the 4th foundation day of the school. The day was recently celebrated at Tarun Sangha Puthibbaral campus which began with a chorus song. Hari Nath Thakuria, a founder-member of the school was paid rich tribute at the function, chaired by B. Biswas, former librarian of Pandu College and attended by a number of students, well-wishers, guardians. The ASE began functioning under the guidance of Dr. D.D. Mali, director, Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship on February 15, 1995. To develop it into an independent body of excellence in Applied Economics, Econometrics and Mathmatical Economic. The ASE, located at Boripara (Maligaon), has been gaining in strength from the day first as far as positive response is concerned in the region. The growing importance for Economics in todays fast-changing global market scenario has enhanced the ASEs valuable contribution in the field of Economics. The post graduate students are greatly benefited in thier specialisation in Economics with the facilities provided by the school to study the modern usage of the subject. The ASE beginning with seven teachers and 44 students is working with six main objectives such as to provide facilities for higher education in Economics and Management Studies; to develop it into a research centre; to bring promising students of the North East etc. It has also established a research wing which carries out various activities like conducting a number of socio-economic surveys |
