Major bureaucratic changes in Tripura

The Tripura Government recently effected a major bureaucratic reshuffle involving eleven IAS and four IPS officers in the four districts of the State. Official sources said Manish Kumar, secretary to the Chief Minister, would be the new district magistrate (DM) of West Tripura district while Bimal Bhowmik would be the new DM of Dhalai district, Pallab Debbarma of North Tripura and Tajinder Singh of South Tripura districts. West Tripura’s additional DM Ashutosh Jindal would henceforth be secretary to the Chief Minister.

The sources added that superintendent of police (SP), South Tripura Anurag, has been transferred to West Tripura district while his counterpart in Dhalai district has been given the charge of South Tripura district. West Tripura’s additional SP Punit Rastogi has been promoted and posted as the SP North Tripura district and K. J. Rang would be the new SP of Dhalai district. North Tripura’s SP Nepal Das has been transferred as the commandant of Home Guards, sources said and added that SP (Security) would hold the additional charge of SP (Operations). SP (Operations) Joydeb Das has taken over as commandant to the Tripura State Rifles (TSR) second battalion.

Nepal Chandra Sinha would be the jail secretary with additional charge of special secretary (Home). S Sailo would be the secretary Labour while additional secretary Social Welfare and Social Education. Manoj Kumar would be registrar of Cooperative Societies. Kumar Alok director of SIPARD and T Bhattacharjee director of Printing and Stationery department
