NPP to keep equidistance The Naga People's Party (NPP) will keep equidistance from all political parties with a view to serving the interests of the Naga people and bringing a lasting solution to the Naga political issue. NPP president N. G. Hungiyo said that the NPP was neither with the Congress nor with other non-Congress parties and was working as the common Naga political platform for the entire North-East working for the unity and emotional integrity of the Nagas. He said the party would not blame the working of other parties and as a Naga they could come and join the platform through the open door. The party rather blamed the Congress and other similar parties who are opposing the Naga interest and aspirations, he said. Regarding the coming Lok Sabha elections, Mr. Hungiyo said that the NPP would like to watch the situation. N. G. Hungiyo said they would like to concentrate on bringing a lasting solution rather than participating in the elections. Moreover, participation in the elections, will depend on the organisation and the position of the party, he said. |
