Myanmar seeks India's help in software tech

In its attempts to break out of a closed economy, Myanmar has sought business contact with India and South East Asian economies in software technology.
“India is one of our favourite destinations. We are venturing into having a huge potential in information technology,” U Thein, president, Myanmar Computer Scientists' Association said at a
meeting organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

Myanmar which has a military regime has offered a green signal to the fledging software industry to expand by establishing MoU's or through contract with individual firms outside the country.

The ten-member delegation representing ten companies has embarked upon a tour starting with India and then would go to Malaysia, Japan and Singapore.

The delegation was in India to make a master plan in doing business with the IT sector in India and would submit it to the Myanmar Government.
