Bongaigaon Refinery silver jubilee celebrations start Silver jubilee celebrations of the Bongaigaon Refinery & Petrochemicals Limited (BRPL) was recently inaugurated by Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Santosh Kumar Gangwar at the BRPL sports complex. Mr. Gangwar also unveiled the silver jubilee memento plaque. Speaking on the occasion, the Union Minister greeted the BRPL community and complimented BRPL for its track record of the last 25 years in spite of its distant geographical and sensitive location. He praised BRPL's efforts of commitment with the aspirations of the local people, more particularly with the ethnic group. The Minister informed that he was well aware of the crude shortage and product evacuation problem of BRPL and assured to meet the needed crude supply, both from the indigenous source and imported supply through Haldia-Barauni pipeline and to remove the product evacuation problem. Reiterating Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee's concern for the development of the North-East region, Mr. Gangwar announced setting up of five more bottling plants.
