Assamese teaching centre in Kohima The Kohima Assamese Society (KAS) and Kohima Sahitya Sabha (KSS) have jointly decided to start a Assamese language teaching centre in Kohima with a view to imparting the basics of Assamese language among the students and youngsters of Assamese community, as well as for other interested individuals. This non-formal Assamese language teaching centre having its head office at the Kohima Sahitya Bhavan has been initiated considering the location of various colonies and areas of the Nagaland capital. Initially it has been proposed to start the works of the language centre in three different centers of the city. Members of Assamese community residing in Kohima shall offer free-service to the Assamese language teaching centre on voluntary basis. In a joint meeting of the KAS and KSS recently, Jatindra Kumar Deori has been elected as chairman and H. N. Dekaboorah as member secretary along with Prahlad Sonowal, Mokbul Hussain, Lachit Sarkar, Atul Chandra Dutta, Lambit Borrah and Bitu Pan Chetia as the members of the ALTC managing board. |
