Arunachal to be connected via satellite


Arunachal Pradesh will be connected through Satcom Communication Network via satellite soon , finance minister l. Wanglet said in Itanagar recently.

Mr. Wanglet said that the Bharat Electrical Limited (BEL) would execute the scheme for which the State Government had already finalised a deal at an estimated Rs. 8.55 crore.

It would provide mesh connectivity between the State headquarter and all the 13 district headquarters and four liaison offices at Delhi, Calcutta, Shillong and Guwahati.

It would also provide dial telephone call between any two locations in the network, similar to public telephone STD call, fax services between two locations, computer communications between two locations and desk top video conferencing between two locations.

The location-wise capacity at the State capital would be up to fifty telephones, one fax and one computer or a video conferencing equipment.

The district headquarter would have up to twenty telephones, one fax machine and a computer or a video conferencing equipment and liaison offices up to ten telephones, one fax machines, one computer or one video conferencing equipment.

Simultaneous conversation in the network of up to 17 telephonic conversation or eight telephone plus nine fax transmission, up to nine computer to computer conception or up to two desk top video connection plus seven computer to computer connection would be available, the minister informed.
